What makes STCC Basketball different?​Basketball at STCC is driven by a desire to provide students exciting opportunities to improve their basketball technique and tactical skills. The College participates in a number of competitions, development programs and initiatives to help our students reach their full potential.  Basketball is a great life-long sport. Both boys and girls are able to start playing as Juniors and continue throughout their time at school, and beyond to eventually play at a professional level. 

 

The College also has numerous representative players. Players at STCC are also beginning to receive full basketball scholarships for schools and universities overseas.  Basketball is a sport growing in popularity at STCC. In the last few years, our teams have achieved outstanding success in the interschool competitions. Teams consistently make the finals series for these games.

STCC is one of the few schools in Queensland who attend the Annual National Marist Basketball Tournament. Teams represent STCC in the Marist tradition. We are yet to taste success at this competition, however we hope to continue an enjoyable long and successful relationship with the tournament and to be a part of this prestigious event long into the future.​

 

For students who wish to play additional games, STCC also provides a club-based competition through our local association with Noosa Basketball Association. Club games run all year on Friday nights or Saturday mornings (dependent on age). Students are also given the opportunity to attend weekly training sessions to assist with skill and game sense development.

 

All of these great school and community based sporting competitions are underpinned by numerous development programs designed to work on the individual and team concepts important to the College's basketball pathways.
